BEER RELEASES

Here’s an award-winning opportunity you won’t want to miss! Our retail store has 2017 & 2018 Maple Tripple available for you to take home. This ‘once-a-year beer’ is brewed only during sugaring season with 100% maple sap from Hartshorn‘s Farm in Waitsfield, VT and aged for one year in maple liqueur barrels. You can also order a vintage bottle (2013, 2014, 2015) at the bar and have it poured for you!

Our Stony Hill Smoked Porter is back, and this time it’s served on nitrogen! This delicious porter features a dry finish, subtle smokiness, and notes of chocolate and caramel. This is on draft only at our taproom.

Stony Hill Smoked Porter

In the beginning of the year we filled an array of barrels with our Fayston Maple Imperial Stout and as the months have passed it has been aging to perfection! We are thrilled to announce the first series to come from this labor of love. Keep your eyes peeled for the official release date of our Fayston Maple Imperial Stout Aged in Apple Brandy Barrels and Fayston Maple Imperial Stout with Coffee and Cinnamon Aged in Apple Brandy Barrels. These beers will be available on draft in the taproom and packaged bottles in our retail store.

Lawson’s Finest is thrilled to add solar energy to our Waitsfield campus! We are currently installing a 40kW AC array on the roof of the brewery building that will include 140 solar panels and produce approximately 52,000 kWh of electricity per year! We are working with Aegis Renewable Energy, based right here in Waitsfield, VT. While this won’t cover 100% of our electrical needs, we are enthusiastic about adding green energy as part of our company core values to reduce our impact in an energy and materials intensive business. It’s exciting times to be able to use the roof of our brewery to produce energy from the sun, and to help the state achieve its goal of 90% renewable energy by 2050. Our solar system will generate enough electricity to power eight average household’s for a year in Vermont.

Sunday, September 8th the Mad River Riders will depart from Lawson’s Finest taproom for their Un Epic Ride. This adventure is unofficial, unadvisedly unfettered, unbelievable, unusual and more than a little uneasy.

The expert loop is ~27 miles/5000′ of climbing and the advanced loop is ~17 miles and 3000′ of climbing through some of the best and most challenging trails in the Mad River Valley. The expert route has trails with significant risks and the advanced route has some true expert sections, although everything can be walked. To be clear, the mileage and vertical numbers do not tell the whole story here. The technical nature of many of these trails make them seem far longer.

Once the course has been completed enjoy an apres velo mello party at our taproom from 12pm-3pm.

Hopheads unite! IPA Fest is back and headed to Brooklyn on Saturday, September 14th! Join us for our tribute to India Pale Ales, ranging from bitter to hazy and juicy to sour. NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW

This August we are unveiling new packaging for Sip of Sunshine and our Super Session IPA Series! It is the same great beer you have come to love, with a refreshed, updated design to match the exceptional quality of the liquids in the can and to align with the beautiful labels and branding of our Waitsfield, VT beers.

Super Session IPA Series

Kingdom Trails IPA (6.2% abv) is pale yellow in color, soft and refreshing on the palate with a mild bitterness and an intensely fruit forward and floral nose. The Kingdom Trail Association joined Sean Lawson in Warren, VT to collaborate in the brewing process as well as selecting the hops used. The proceeds benefit both NEMBA and the Kingdom Trail Association. We have limited draft available at our taproom, stop by and give it a try!

Sean has been busy at the original brewery in Warren, VT and one of the anticipated releases is the Bit O’ Balsam IPA. It’s brewed and “dry-tipped” with Balsam Fir and comes in at 6.5% abv. It will be available in 22oz bottles in our retail store and on draft at our taproom in late July. CHARITABLE GIVING PROGRAM

Lawson’s Finest has chosen to pay our staff generous living wages and benefits. There is no tip obligation in the taproom. However, if guests choose to leave a donation, 100% will be donated to local charitable endeavors.

July 1st-15th the donations will be given to Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice – Their personal care attendant and homemaking support long-term care program extends beyond the traditional medical sphere. They provide companionship and help with activities of daily living (light housekeeping, cooking, laundry, and bathing and dressing) to central Vermonters who, without the support, would very likely have needed to leave their homes and move to a facility or nursing home. Caring for people in their homes is cost effective, a fraction of an inpatient hospital stay and about half the cost to care for a person in a nursing home. Perhaps more important, by providing one-on-one support, education, and high-quality care in a setting where we know people want to be, they give central Vermonters the tools to manage their conditions and maintain their independence.

July 16th-31st the taproom donations will be given to Downstreet Housing & Community Development – Downstreet strengthens the communities of Central Vermont by engaging with people, providing affordable homes, and connecting people to the resources and services they need to thrive. Donated funds will support the Residences 4 Recovery Initiative which is a collective statewide effort, lead by Downstreet, to accelerate the development of supportive recovery housing in Vermont to assist the thousands of individuals and families, and the dozens of communities suffering from the Substance Use Disorder crisis.

Be on the lookout for our Scrag Mountain Pils! This summer’s must-try is our house lager that features a mild floral aroma, is dry, crisp and refreshing with a delicate amount of noble hop spice. It pairs well with adventures and will be available at some accounts throughout the Northeast U.S.! Inspired by the traditional Czech Pilsner style; our house lager is a tribute to the source of Waitsfield’s town water and the aquifer deep beneath Scrag Mountain.
