Our next 9-state limited release is… Kiwi!

Our kiwi bird is leaving it’s nest and heading to all nine states! Named after our hop-loving friends in the Southern Hemisphere, Kiwi is a Double IPA brewed with New Zealand grown Nelson Sauvin and Pacific Jade hops.

Flavor profile

Now that you know what hops are featured, let’s talk about the flavor profile.

Nelson Sauvin hops were named after the Sauvignon Blanc grape because the aroma and flavor resemble a white wine. The Pacific Jade hops have more citrus flavors like tangerine and orange. It also has more earthy flavors. Both of these hop verities were developed and grown in New Zealand.

Kiwi is a big beer coming in at 8.1% ABV, but still maintains balance. It’s smooth with a slightly sweet finish to balance out the heavy dose of hops.

Packaging

According to Sean Lawson, creating the imagery for this can was very fun. Every detail was carefully considered when creating the Kiwi bird, including what vegetation this bird would be found in! Naturalist Sean certainly loved creating his own hop-cone Kiwi bird species.
