Our ode to the changing of seasons in Vermont, we hold our Maple Beer and Chili Invitational annually on the Saturday of Vermont Maple Open House Weekend. A who’s who of breweries from the Northeast and eastern seaboard descend on Waitsfield, Vermont to celebrate all things maple in the form of a beer fest and heated chili competition. The rules are simple. Every brewery brings a beer, and a chili made with that beer as well as a required addition of maple syrup. Attendees get access to samples of every brewery’s chili and every brewery’s beer, as well as specialty glassware, stickers, and entertainment. The crowd, as well as a panel of expert judges, will determine the winner of this year’s Golden Ladle, Silver Spoon, and Bronze Bean.
