On June 21, Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce announced Lawson’s Finest Liquids as the 2020 Dean C. Davis Outstanding Vermont Business of the Year

This prestigious award honors a Vermont business that demonstrates a history of sustained growth while fostering a positive workplace, displaying commitment to community projects and recognizing the environment as an important natural and economic resource.

“Lawson’s Finest Liquids has shown great merit for the Deane C. Davis Award. Like Davis himself — former governor, president of National Life of Vermont and environmentalist,” commented John Boutin, Publisher of Vermont Business Magazine. “Lawson’s Finest Liquids reflects Vermont’s diverse nature and, at the same time, radiates a savvy business sense and is a leader in the ever-growing Vermont craft brew industry.”

Lawson’s Finest Liquids was built on a strong values-based ethos. They uphold their pillars of Excellence, Authenticity, Fun, Community and Innovation every day through product quality, work culture, guest experience and philanthropy. The company works to foster thriving communities through the Social Impact Program which provides donations to Vermont nonprofits that support healthy communities, food and economic security, environmental protection and sustainable recreation.

“We are honored to be awarded the Most Outstanding Vermont Business and amongst many esteemed prior winners that come before us,” said Co-Owner Karen Lawson. “We are humbled to be recognized for this honor and have remained committed as a business to ensure vibrant communities and that starts with our staff, our neighbors and the environment.”

The Deane C. Davis Outstanding Vermont Business of the Year Award was created 30 years ago and is named in honor of Governor Deane C. Davis, known as the “Environmental Governor,” who was a strong advocate of a sound economy that is based in a protected environment. Lawson’s Finest was chosen from a pool of outstanding applicants including finalists Union Mutual and Healthy Living Market. The award was presented by Lieutenant Governor Gray in Waterbury, VT.
