March Beer News

March marks 11 years in business for Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Specifically March 17th, Sean Lawson delivered the very first keg to Mad River Glen! Our brewery, taproom and retail store has been open since the end of October and it’s exciting times to finally be able to have a place to offer guests the ultimate Lawson’s Finest experience. We are in the process of planning our anniversary party in April and we are thrilled to celebrate eleven years of brewing with you all! Advanced tickets are required, so stay tuned for the official announcement!

For those looking to get their hands on our special release of our Fayston Maple Chocolate Tart Cherry Imperial Stout we have a limited number of bottles available at our retail store. If you’re interested in giving it a try, grab a seat at the taproom for a fresh pour and let us know what you think. We are excited about how well this beer is perceived and look forward to hearing your opinion.

We are excited to announce the debut of our Berliner Weisse Style Ale available on draft and 22 oz. bottles Friday, March 8th! Carefully crafted by Sean and our team (thank you Chris for the recipe!) on the original 7bbl brewery at the Wizard’s Workshop in Warren, VT. Inspired by the traditional German Berliner Weisse style it sits at 3.4% abv, making it delightfully delicious and drinkable. This wheat ale has a brisk, refreshing tartness, with notes of lemongrass and fresh grain and a rich golden glow.

The Berliner Weisse steeped in history dates back to 1526 and at one point syrups were introduced to include with the beer. We will be pairing our Berliner Weisse Style Ale with blackberry and lemon syrup to add a flavorful finish. This is a taproom only special, so be sure to plan a trip to try this limited, tasty beer!

Sugarhouse IPA found it’s way back into our lineup with an updated flavor profile! This special brew was inspired by the first recipe crafted in 2008 at our home-based brewery in Warren, VT, also known as the Wizard’s Workshop. The recipe is continually evolving which provides an opportunity to experiment with different combinations of hops and malts to create a delightful American IPA. You can expect a notable fruitiness, a delicate haze and soft bitterness in this latest release. Stop by the taproom and retail store for a fresh pour or take some cans to go!

Charitable Giving Program

Lawson’s Finest has chosen to pay our staff generous living wages and benefits. There is no tip obligation when guests come to the taproom. However, if guests choose to leave a gratuity, 100% will be donated to local charitable endeavors.

The first half of March the taproom donations will go to the Central Vermont Humane Society. Their mission is to protect and advocate for companion animals in need, and to build a humane community that promotes compassion and seeks to strengthen the human-animal bond. Your gratuity will help save over 1,000 homeless animals this year. CVHS provides food, shelter, medical care, and finds new loving homes for these animals who have nowhere else to turn.

The second half of the month we are supporting Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity partners with people in the community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home.

Seven Days wrote an article about our taproom and it speaks of our charitable giving program. Check out “Serving Beer and Generosity at Lawson’s Finest Liquids Taproom”!
