June Beer News

Friday, June 7th we are releasing our Homestead Haze IPA! Vermont has a special place in our hearts and this is a tribute to the state we love so much. This beer has been brewed with 100% Vermont grown products. We brewed with malted barley and wheat from Peterson Quality Malt and Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook varieties from Homestead Hops. A big thanks to these Vermont farms for cultivating products that we are proud to brew with!

This limited Waitsfield brew is hazy and light amber in appearance with a bouquet of resinous hop aroma and flavors, featuring orange and grapefruit rind, fresh cut grass, and peach and stone fruit esters. We will have this available in draft and in cans, so be sure to stop by our taproom for a taste!

App Gap Saison is making its way back into our lineup Saturday, June 1st! Our Belgian style farmhouse ale has a slightly spicy character, fruity yeast-driven esters and an effervescent dry finish. Named after the Appalachian Gap, our mountain gateway to the valley, it’s a classic adventure road that connects us with our neighbors to the west. Frequently used by cycling enthusiasts both pedal and motor, and has views that will take your breath away. Stop by for a fresh pour or grab cans to go!

Rooski Black IPA (7% ABV) is a tribute to our dear friend and colleague, Andrew Black. The brewing process was a collaborative effort with the Black Family and our staff participating in its creation at our original 7bbl brewery in Warren, VT. This aromatic brew features Marris Otter and Chocolate malts, along with Amarillo, El Dorado, and Sabro hops. We have a limited supply available in 22 oz. bottles and on draft.

Lawson’s Finest has chosen to pay our staff generous living wages and benefits. There is no tip obligation when guests come to the taproom. However, if guests choose to leave a donation, 100% will be donated to local charitable endeavors.

The first half of June our taproom donations will be given to The Catamount Trail Association (CTA). The CTA maintains Vermont’s Catamount Trail and a world-class network of backcountry ski terrain. They work to conserve the mountain lands on which outdoor recreation depends, and run free programs introducing youth to cross country skiing, all in an effort to expand access to backcountry skiing to more Vermonters. The Mad River Valley Backcountry Coalition (MRVBC) is a local chapter of the CTA focused on creating managed backcountry ski zones and enhancing opportunities for wintertime recreation right here in the Mad River Valley.

Catamount Trail Association

The second half of June our taproom donations will go to Downstreet Residences 4 Recovery Initiative; a collective statewide effort, lead by Downstreet, to accelerate the development of supportive recovery housing in Vermont and to assist the thousands of individuals and families, and the dozens of communities suffering from the Substance Use Disorder crisis. All funds raised will support the cost of operational demand associated with developing and leading the Initiative.
