December Beer News

We have been all-consumed with building the new Lawson’s Finest Brewery, Taproom & Retail Store! As you can see in the attached photo (and time lapse video!), the Taproom timber frame was erected on site. Mad River Post & Beam has created a truly stunning work of art!

UPDATE 12/13/17 – All good things take time! Peril IPA is still bubbling away and it can’t be rushed due to its copious dry hopping and cold conditioning. We are planning for the Peril IPA release in January – make sure to read the January Beer News for distribution information!

Due to our jam packed schedules devoted to the progress of our new Waitsfield location, Sean’s brew schedule is slimmer than usual. Sean did, however, brew a beer he knew you’d go wild over just in time for the holidays! Peril Imperial IPA has a menacing hop character and dangerously smooth flavor, achieved by copious dry hopping and cold conditioning. Please enjoy responsibly… at your own Peril! Bottles and draft will be released beginning December 21st. Bottles will be available 12/21 at Warren Store and Hunger Mountain Co-op, and 12/22 at Beverage Warehouse, and 12/26 at Craft Beer Cellar Waterbury.

During this month, you can Find Our Beer – Sip of Sunshine IPA and Super Session #8 (cans and draft) around Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, select Maine counties (Cumberland, York, Penobscot, Hancock), and New York.

On Thursday December 21st please join us at Worthy Kitchen’s annual “Night Before the Night“. This is the 6th year of fund raising for the Vermont Foodbank. Participants are bound to experience the best draft list around, paired with amazing food. Lawson’s Finest plans to bring Double Sunshine IPA, Carrier Mild Coffee Ale, Sip of Sunshine IPA and Super Session #8. There will be a great selection of silent auction items for that last minute gift (including a case of Double Sunshine IPA!). Get your tickets now as they are limited.

On Tuesday December 26th Two Roads Brewing in Stratford CT will be hosting Sean Lawson at a Meet the Brewer event from 12-3pm! Sean traveled to Two Roads in early December to brew a collaboration beer that will be featured only at this event. It’s your one chance to taste Typecast, a Farmhouse IPA heavily dry hopped using ingredients from both CT and VT. The beer will feature VT white cedar and CT balsam fir tips in the boil and dry hopped with CT grown Wye Challenger and Cascade hops as well as VT grown Centennial hops.

The holiday season is here! Whether you put Lawson’s Finest merchandise on your own wish list, or purchase it for a special beer lover in your life, don’t delay! Please allow ample time for shipping, as our online store will be closed December 22-28. We have two great ideas for you: 1) Shop our Store to show your Lawson’s Finest pride by purchasing apparel, glassware, and our sunshine products; and 2) Sip of Sunshine Parlor SkisGreat beer and skiing are a match made in heaven. 10% of all Sip ski sales will go to the Stark Mountain Foundation at Mad River Glen ski area.
