Above the Clouds made its debut when we first opened our brewery, taproom and retail store in Waitsfield and we’re excited to announce its comeback! Our golden ale features notes of lemon citrus, is crisp and clean with a well balanced bitterness, and a light bodied mouth feel. It’s a refreshing, thirst quenching beverage we highly recommend that you give a try and take on your next adventure!

Bit O’ Balsam IPA – Sean Lawson and the Vermont Center for Ecostudies joined forces at our original brewery in Warren, VT to collaborate on the Bit O’ Balsam IPA. This American IPA features wild crafted Balsam Fir tips harvested high in the Green Mountains, home to the Bicknell’s Thrush. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Vermont Center for Ecostudies and their efforts to conserve this vulnerable species.

This special brew will be released on Monday, August 5th! We will have 22oz. bottles available for purchase at our retail store and fresh draft at our taproom. Enjoy a fresh pour while listening to music from Chad Hollister from 5-7pm.

Lawson’s Finest has chosen to pay our staff generous living wages and benefits. There is no tip obligation in the taproom. However, if guests choose to leave a donation, 100% will be donated to local charitable endeavors.

August 1st – 15th our taproom donations will be given to the Vermont Farm Immersion Program based at Hartshorn Farm in Waitsfield, VT. Their mission is to inspire, guide and educate the next generation of farmers and food business entrepreneurs, as well as empower individuals to grow food sustainably. Each of the one-of-a-kind, hands on, residential and experiential programs intensively explores all aspects of growing certified organic vegetables, fruits, and medicinal herbs as well as year round, climate protected, sustainable hydroponic (grown in water) greens, farm animal care, beekeeping, operating a farm stand and maple sugar house, agritourism events, pick your own, wholesale produce accounts, CSA’s, creating farm camps for kids, food & farm tours, and an introduction to a large variety of local food businesses.   Funding would be used to help create a scholarship fund so that the cost of the program will not be a deterrent for those that really want to participate, as well as funds to finish a space that will be used as a dorm.

Vermont Farm Immersion Program

August 16th – 31st our taproom donations will be given to the Mad River Valley Libraries.

The Friends of the Joslin Memorial Library (Waitsfield) donation will support programs on a variety of issues for both adults and children that are free for everyone in the community to attend.

The Friends of the Warren Library support all of the children’s programming – from the very popular Friday afterschool program for elementary students to the summer learning activities. With the funds collected through the Lawson’s Finest charitable giving program, they will be purchasing laptops to use for kids coding classes.

The Friends of the Moretown Library strives to be a hub for the community by providing robust programming, services and a diverse collection of materials. Currently, they are working to update the library’s technology capabilities with the addition of a projector to use for movies and upcoming programs.
